One of the biggest reasons I became a Hellaverse fan was because of Alastor, I loved his character, his design, his voice. Yes, I was one of the "Alastor Fangirls." I also loved him even more after learning he was canonically asexual. While I hadn't yet figured out and accepted that I was in the aroace spectrum myself, learning about Alastor made me consider more perspective about how I felt as a questioning asexual, but I was also attracted to him romantically without the sexual attraction. Alastor was also the very first fictional character that I had ever had a serious crush on in 7 years; my last one being Alucard from the Hellsing series prior, which was short-lived.
This was actually the only ship art I made of them together. As much as I loved Alastor back then, I think I realized he wasn't really my type. My feelings were very on and off. While I was (and still am) in love with this piece and it did rekindle some interest back then, I eventually fell off for good by the end of the year.
I drew this originally for my 24th birthday cake to be printed on top of the icing at my local grocery store, who was also baking the cake. I hadn't done birthday cake art since my 19th, so I wanted to make another one after not having the inspiration for years. This drawing was also inspired by the dance scene in The Simpsons episode Grade School Confidential; one of my all-favorite romantic episodes from the series.
